What's New
Local language suggestions
- Detects the current script language entirely on-device with macOS Natural Language after 2.5 seconds without edits.
- Suggests a compatible speech-recognition locale when the script and selected speech language differ.
- Keeps language changes user-controlled and handles regional and Simplified/Traditional script variants.
More reliable microphones and dictation
- Prevents stale permission and recognition callbacks from reviving or replacing stopped microphone sessions.
- Adds cancellable startup states, clearer microphone errors, retry backoff, and safer hardware-change recovery.
- Improves editor dictation across recognition restarts and multi-channel input devices.
- Prevents duplicate microphone sessions during page changes.
Better word following
- Improves CJK token matching, bracketed cue handling, and completion around trailing punctuation.
- Uses long-form dictation hints and source context for better recognition accuracy.
- Includes the recognition-resilience improvements from PR #67 for jumps and transient recognizer availability.
